We are actively seeking a dedicated and proactive HSEQ Manager to join our team and lead initiatives aimed at driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance across our operations. This position can be based in either our Henderson (Perth) or West Kalgoorlie office and will require regular scheduled travel to cover all Worthy Group locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with senior management and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with all applicable WHS legislation specific to operational jurisdiction.
  • Develop and disseminate HSEQ information, including safety alerts and toolbox topics.
  • Design and deliver HSEQ training programs aimed at fostering a safe work culture and increasing awareness of critical risks.
  • Maintain a training matrix and conducting Training Needs Assessments (TNAs) and training plans to ensure all workers are competent in performing their tasks effectively and safely.
  • Lead investigations into HSE incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring thorough reporting and root cause analysis.
  • Conduct regular audits of HSEQ systems and processes to ensure compliance with regulations, internal policies and other legal requirements.
  • Ensure timely statutory notification of reportable incidents to relevant authorities, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Management of Workers Compensation claims, including documentation and coordination with insurers, while also planning and implementing strategies to reduce future claims.
  • Oversee and update STEMS safety platform to effectively track and document safety-related activities, including incident reporting, worker training and inductions, and action management. Ensure the platform is utilised efficiently to maintain compliance and facilitate a proactive safety culture.
  • Assist with the implementation of HSEQ procedures and coordinate the sign- off by employees before recording in STEMS.
  • Develop and implement HSEQ systems, management plans and procedures, ensuring employee involvement and understanding throughout the process to facilitate effective implementation.
  • Monitor and manage site mobilisation compliance
  • Oversee and conduct inspections of workplaces and offices, as well as evacuation drills at all Worthy Group locations.
  • Manage and maintain compliance registers and related documentation to ensure company adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Complete and maintain PEV risk assessments.
  • Facilitate and complete comprehensive risk assessments to drive compliance and enhance the proactiveness of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) system.
  • Monitor and manage HSEQ compliance and authorisation processes for contractors and subcontractors
  • Completion of prequalification processes for current or new clients/tenders/projects.
  • Liaise with providers to carryout plant/equipment inspections.
  • Complete first aid kit inspections and restock
  • Manage the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the emergency response plan and processes.
  • Manage the reporting and verification of data within safety platforms to ensure accurate monitoring of workplace safety (LMS, STEMS, Alcolizer as examples).
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety is essential, with higher qualifications in HSEQ or related fields being highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in similar HSEQ roles, preferably within the resources industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HSE legislation, standards, and best practices across various jurisdictions, including Western Australia
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A high level of initiative combined with strong decision-making abilities and a proactive, 'can-do' attitude
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a strong emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and possess mid to high-level skills with various software and platforms relevant to HSEQ operations.
  • Must have a valid C class drivers licence, National Police Clearance (less than 12 months old) and the ability to pass a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening).
